Wisconsin Cheese Tours:
Cheese tours include there are 140 cheeses manufacturers.  These are road trips offering a wide range of cheese varieties.  The tours will take you to their factory or stores that carry different Wisconsin cheeses.  Most cheese makers have retail stores selling their brand of cheeses.  Hiram Smith, a farmer was the first to open a cheese factory in Sheboygan Wisconsin in 1859.

Widmer's Cheese Cellars in Theresa.
You will be able to see cheese being made.  It's only about an hours drive northwest from Milwaukee.  Third generation of cheese makers Joe Widmer inherited from his grand father.  Tours are daily starting at 9:30 for those who call in advance.

Beechwood Cheese Company is only a half an hour drive from Widmer's.
The company is best known for its Wisconsin Curds that now come in a wide variety of favors.

Wisconsin produces 600 different cheeses.   Famous for their cheese curds that now come in different favors.

Arena Cheese Factory located about 30 miles from Madison.  They created the cheese called Colby Jack in Arena.  Visitors are able to watch cheese making through a viewing window.  The best time to visit is at 8:15a.m. and 1p.m. during the weekdays.
